ABOUT
A vessel of surreal fact and narrative untangling the linear threads of logic which bind us in a precarious today. Hypnic Magazine is a critical exploration of space and politics that question the conscious and unconscious dreams through which society speaks.

Ethics & Policy
Overview
To allow Hypnic Magazine to provide critical discourse around shared spatial experience we must acknowledge the ethics by which such an experimental medium should be explored.
The principles outlined below identify the directives by which Hypnic Magazine hopes to contribute;

-
Acknowledge that we live and work on stolen land, & that sovereignty of these lands has never been ceded. The privatisation of public space in Australia is the direct consequence of colonisation. We acknowledge that as non-indigenous Australians we benefit from the theft of Country and continuing persecution of indigenous people. Wherever possible collaboration with the traditional owners will be sought.
-
Build and engage Community, Sector, and Societal Impact - in order to educate, motivate and inform the public, through exhibitions, public lectures and publications which have social, cultural and/or environmental integrity.
-
Inform public debate which provides the public with insight into society’s biggest problems at all levels to create an open platform for people around the world to collaborate on smarter, ethical and regenerative solutions. Ensure quality, diverse and intelligible content reaches the widest possible audience.
-
Provide an editorial independent forum, protecting freedoms of expression and freedom from commercial bias.
